General Summary: PERFMAN is expanding our Product Development team and is looking for a passionate Product Manager to help manage the growth of our PerfMan product line, the leading systems management solution that enables cross-platform modeling, management, and optimization of physical and virtual environments for total visibility.
As a Product Manager, you are responsible for defining the product strategy and roadmap for new and existing products built by development teams using Agile processes. You will your leverage your product management experience and knowledge of Agile processes and development methods to define innovative product solutions. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the ability to work closely with development teams to translate that vision into a product reality.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will engage with various sources to analyze market needs and identify business opportunities. You will work closely with developers to refine high-level market requirements into actionable product and feature requirements, and help make key scoping and feature trade-off decisions. You will drive your product into the field working with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. At times, you will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working directly with the sales channel and customers.
Responsibilities
- Work with all stakeholders to understand, prioritize, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Work closely with developers and architects to understand the technical implications of the functional requirements.
- Reconcile all perspectives into a cohesive, prioritized, and detailed plan and continuously updated backlog.
- Help develop and maintain an up to date product roadmap and release plan.
- Create sufficient documentation for all features, including release notes.
- Drive the product process forward, ensuring that everyone involved has what they need to move forward at all times.
- Constantly monitor competitors and markets to identify key competition and market trends.
- Conduct competitive analyses and other market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Develop product cost/pricing models needed to successfully manage the business.
Requirements:
- 4+ years product management experience with full ownership of product vision and features.
- Solid experience with Agile methods, preferably as a scrum master or product owner on Agile development projects.
- Experience managing commercial software products, preferably enterprise IT management tools or enterprise web applications.
- Ability to understand and articulate technical capabilities, usability, and technology trends.
- Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree.
