What's new in Version 7.0

PerfMan Version 7.0 includes numerous enhancements to ISM's family of capacity and performance management solutions. Below are enhancement highlights.

PerfMan PointView

• PerfMan PointView brings powerful Capacity Management disciplines to Business Service Management.  PointView makes it easy to share key service level information with anyone in the organization.  Built on a powerful core of web services and ASP.NET, PointView is accessible through a web browser.  It provides a totally integrated view of all platforms in one easy to understand, dashboard interface.  Click through navigation makes drilling into the details intuitive.   

PerfMan for UNIX

• PerfMan for UNIX now supports performance management for IBM's PowerVM (formerly known as APV Support for AIX).  PerfMan for UNIX provides reporting for Linux and AIX virtualization on System p logical partitions (LPARs) whether dedicated or shared (micro-partitions).  CPU utilization may be viewed from either a virtual or physical perspective.  PerfMan for UNIX provides a complete set of intuitive, sophisticated capabilities for pSeries Servers. 

• Additional support for HP OpenView Agent (OPVA) 4.7.0.

• New disk metrics, calculations and reports are provided.

PerfMan for z/OS

• The Capacity Planning tool was enhanced to allow users to combine workloads from different LPARs.  In situations where LPAR names have been changed, the tool now allows a user to combine the workloads for capacity planning reasons.  The new function is called 'Combine Workloads' and is found on the 'Activities' toolbar menu.

PerfMan for Parm Manager

• Parm Manager has been updated to support MSXML 6.0.

PerfMan for Linux

• New support for Global Network and Network Interface metrics. 

PerfMan for Windows

• All PerfMan for Windows chart help text was updated to include the performance counters and calculations required for each chart.
